How To Make Gin – eBook
This book is for anyone who is interested in making their own gin at home. As someone who has been distilling for over a decade, I noticed that many of the available resources on distilling and gin-making only provide vague, surface-level information. And if they do provide recipes, they’re sourced from an old scroll from the 1800’s – they don’t actually taste any good!
Ok, I’m being a little cynical.. But, I wanted to create a resource that is a practical guide to making gin – good gin – without glossing over any details.
This book is a complete guide to distilling gin at home, and includes not only step-by-step instructions but also 10 recipes to try out, each using a different gin making technique.
Whether you’re an experienced distiller or a beginner, this book will provide you with the knowledge and tools you need to create your own unique and delicious gin. Complete with:
- Real photos
- Real experience (and mistakes)
- 10 Recipes created and tested by me and the team here at DIY Distilling.
What’s In The Book
What Do Other People Say?
I enjoyed this book, and would recommend it to anyone starting learning distilling. The author clearly has a rich knowledge of gin and a lot of first hand experience.
Good book. I did with is talked more about making the vodka you need as a base for making gin, though that may be a topic for another book. 4*
About The Author
Hi, I’m Tristan and I’ve been distilling for more than 12 years now. I built my first still from an old beer keg and some copper pipe, and now have more distilling hardware than I care to admit!
For me, it’s the combination of science and engineering, understanding azeotropes and temperature control, with the artistry of balancing flavors and ingredients.
There’s also a certain magic with distilling where what goes in isn’t what comes out. I had to figure out WHY this is.
I started a blog (DIYDistilling.com) in the hope to create the best free resource on the internet to help you on your distilling journey. So other novices out these don’t have to make the same mistakes I did. A resource that answers the questions I wish I was told 10 years ago!
I also started a small gin distillery, but more on that later, and have made over 100 different gin recipes (and counting).
I sincerely hope you find this book helpful, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions, suggestions, or recommendations you may have.
